Eligible Engineering Graduates and Post Graduates are advised to Apply GATE 2015 Online exam on or before 1st October 2014. GATE 2015 – GATE online application form ,GATE syllabus and GATE previous papers

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination conducted by IHRD ministry of India which evaluates the candidates based on their engineering subjects. GATE exam is conducted by IITs/IISC on behalf of the National Coordination Board. 

The GATE score of a candidate is published as percentile which reflects the relative performance level of a candidate with respects to the total no of students who appeared for the entrance examination. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programs (e.g. Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, and Doctor of Philosophy) in Indian higher education institutes, with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other government agencies. Recently, GATE scores are also being used by several Indian public sector undertakings for recruiting graduate engineers in entry-level positions. It is one of the most competitive examinations in India.

GATE 2015: General Information

1. Application Process: For GATE 2015 all information related to the candidates Will be available in a single GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Candidates have to register and fill the application via ONLINE mode ONLY by Accessing the zonal GATE websites of IISc and any of the seven IITs. The photograph and signature of the applicant must be uploaded during the online application. Please note that all necessary certificates, such as, degree certificate/certificate from the Principal and the category certificate, if any are also to be uploaded. Please note that application forms are not available for sale anywhere else.

2. Downloadable Admit Card: Admit cards will NOT be sent by e-mail/post, they can ONLY be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites tentatively from 17th December 2014. The candidate has to bring the printed admit card to the test center along with at least one original (not photocopied/scanned copy) and valid (not expired) photo identification. It may be noted that one of the following photo identifications is ONLY permitted: Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, College ID, Employee identification card

GATE 2015 application registration date extended to October 20, 2014

Good News for GATE 2015 Aspirants. The Gate 2015  registration date has again been extended to October 20, 2014. As notified by the official website of GATE, the application process will close on similar date.

Graduate Aptitude Test examination is held twice a year for testing the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. The GATE official committee had earlier announced that the last date to register was October 1, 2014 which was then extended to October 14 and now to October 20.

Candidates having an enrollment ID can complete the application submission process and the payment till 11:55 PM , October 20, 2014.

After October 20, 2014, neither Online application can be submitted, nor any payment can be made.

After making payment once, candidates should wait for some time for the payment to materialise and appear in the GATE application. Extra payment made , if any, will be refunded after  October 14, 2014 (after the last date of application submission).  

Eligible candidates who missed  out a chance to complete the application process and for those who could not rectify the mistakes in applications must do so.  The applicants are required to fill their applications through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) to further complete all formalities for enrollment. The whole process will take place online and no hard copies of applications /certificates /documents will be accepted otherwise.

While registering for the applications, General category and Other Backward Classes candidates will have to pay Rs 1500 as application fee and Rs 750 by female candidates has to be paid for the same. The application fee is non refundable, but extra amount paid would be returned after the completion of registration process

GATE 2015: Last Day of Registration is October 14

Registration for GATE or Graduate Aptitude Test examination will close at 11:55 pm on Tuesday October 14. GATE primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.

The earlier deadline was October1, which was extended due to the Jammu and Kashmir floods
GATE score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programs like Master of Engineering, Master of Technology, Doctor of Philosophy in Indian higher education institutes, with financial assistance provided by Ministry of Human Resource Development and other government agencies.

GATE applicants can go to the official website to register or rectify mistakes they may have made while registering.

GATE application is through the online process only, and no hard copies of supporting documents are accepted. Payments have to be made through debit/ATM cards, credit cards or internet banking and e-challan only.

After the registration, an enrolment ID is generated. Candidates with the GATE enrolment ID can complete the application submission process and the payment till 11:55 pm , October 17, 2014.  

GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.
